
N17bn Recovered From NEPZA Licensees

The House of Representatives’ Committee on Public Accounts has said over N17bn unremitted revenue collected by some companies operating in the Free Trade Zones has been recovered and domiciled with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
THE Chairman of the committee, Oluwole Oke, made this known at an investigative hearing on the audit queries issued by the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation against the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority and companies licensed to collect statutory and operational fees on behalf of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
Jonathan Felicitates Muslims, Prays for peace

Former President Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has felicitated Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
Dr Jonathan in a statement issued at the end of Ramadan by Ikechukwu Eze his spokesman also prayed for peace and hoped that the supplications of the Muslim faith will be accepted for the good of our country

APC Reacts To NDLEA’s Request For Drug Test

The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has reacted to the request by the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA that aspirants for various elective offices ahead of its forthcoming primary elections be made to undergo a drug test.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Barr. Felix Morka who confirmed that the party has received the letter, however stated that its contents have not been tabled for discussion by the National Working Committee NWC.
